Dora Belle Strader

Dora Belle Strader, 79, died Friday, April 18, 2014. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Cox Funeral Home with Joe Kirkwood, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by Cox Funeral Home, 4180 Canyon Drive. Dora was born Oct. 27, 1934, in Amarillo to Glenn and Dora Setser. She was spent her life here in Amarillo. Dora married John "Johnnie" Milburn Strader Sr. on Feb. 20, 1950, in Albuquerque, N.M. He preceded her in death in 1988. She devoted her life to being a loving mother and a grandmother to her family. She was a caregiver to her family as well as many friends in need. Dora had a green thumb and was able to grow almost anything. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Johnnie Strader Sr.; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Survivors include include two sons, John Milburn Strader Jr. and Glenn Mackie Strader and wife Eugenia; five daughters, Darlene Gowdy and husband Larry, Peggy Rorebeck and husband Clifton, Star Strader and companion David, Joni Hart and husband Dennis and Lisa Rambo and husband Sam, all of Amarillo; 19 grandchildren, 48 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.
