Doris "Nanny" Ann Branum

Doris was born on July 7, 1945 in Ben Franklin to Doris and Lorene Branum. She enjoyed watching old movies in her free time, especially John Wayne movies. She was also an Elvis Presley Fan. Doris was a recovering alcoholic and a big part of her life was spent helping others through the recovery process as well as surrounding herself with the many friends she made at her AA group as well as her family. Her celebrated date of sobriety was December 1, 1980, a date her friends and family will also remember for years to come. She was proceeded in death by her parents; 3 brothers, Dan, Clifford and Bob Branum. She is survived by her children, Jeff Nelson and wife Becky, Susan Nelson Andrews and husband Jay, Robert Nelson and wife Wendi and Matthew Nelson; siblings, Carolyn Davis, Shirley Myers, Margaret Cox and husband Larry; 12 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, a great-great granddaughter, and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
