Doris was born on September 26, 1926 in Rotan to Benjamin Franklin and Ida Lucille Nichols. She was raised in Quannah, where she graduated from Quannah High School in 1944. She then began her employment with Santa Fe Railroad as a telegraph operator. It was there that she met many friends and the love of her life, Vernon Stach. They were married on September 2, 1948. He preceded her in death on May 22, 1988. Doris devoted her life to caring for her family after her children were born. She loved playing bridge, bowling and ballroom dancing. She was a longtime member of Trinity Lutheran Church and a member of the Golden Girls, Beta Sigma Phi Sorority. Most of all, she loved being "NeNee" to her family.
She is survived by her 2 sons, Gary Stach and wife Susan of Amarillo and Phillip Stach and wife Teri of Lorena; brother, Roy Eugene Nichols of Hemmitt, CA; sister, Franklin Juanita Moore of Victorville, CA; 8 grandchildren, Shelley, Adam, Casie, Adriane, Abbie, Jake and Brady and 10 great grandchildren, Chloe, Claire, Autumn, Kaylyn, Saryna, Conner, Tucker, Wesley, Brooklyn and Luke.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Vernon Stach and 4 sisters, Sammie Self, Pearl Gage, Louise Garrard and Georgia Mae Sorenson.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Leukemia Foundation in memory of Vernon and Doris Stach.
