Dorismae N. Clymer

Dorismae Nelms Clymer, 75, of Amarillo, passed away on Thursday, January 11, 2018. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 16, 2018 at Crossroad Country Church with Pastor Bob Miller officiating. Burial will follow at Dreamland Cemetery. Dorismae was born on June 16, 1942 in Chickashaw, Oklahoma to Charles Herschel Nelms and Esther Ruth Nelms. She was raised in Tipton, where she graduated high school. She married Bill C. Clymer on December 26,1965 in Mangum, OK. Dorismae worked as a P.E. aid, school nurse aid and secretary for many years and retired from Canyon ISD. In her spare time she enjoyed being involved in activities in her community, including being the Canyon Rodeo leader for over four years, Randall County 4-H, and The Amarillo Range Riders. Doris was proud to be involved in many organizations, TSTA & Canyon Retired Teachers; Rhett's Darlin' Divas, The Red Hatters groups, PTA, and was a member of South Georgia Baptist Church. She is survived by husband, Bill C. Clymer; 2 daughters, Cynthia Vara and husband Alex of Garden City and Tonya Lewis and husband Vance of Red River, NM; grandchildren, Shyla Curry of Tucumcari, NM, Henry "Hank" Lewis, John "Tate" Lewis and Faith Lewis all of Red River, NM, Kristin Wester and husband Stephen of Weatherford, other cherished family members, close friends Christy and TJ Bohlender son Macklynd, Mike Johnson, Craig Trammel and Bonnie Waters all of Amarillo, and many other friends. She was preceded in death by her parents. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to be made to Crown of Texas Hospice Foundation for BSA Hospice of the Southwest, #3 Care Circle, Amarillo TX 79124, or a favorite charity.
