Dorothy Moore Hollabaugh

Dorothy Moore Hollabaugh, 68, of Amarillo, died Thursday, April 19, 2018. Viewing will be from 3:00-8:00 pm on Sunday and 8:00 am- 8:00 pm on Monday at the funeral home. Memorial services will be 10:00 am Tuesday at Cox Funeral Home Chapel, 4180 Canyon Dr. with Pastor Kyle Wilkinson officiating. Dorothy was born February 8, 1950 in Abilene to W.R. "Dub" and Faye Moore. She graduated from Amarillo High School. She worked as a medical lab technician for Dr. John Archer for many years. After Dr. Archer retired, Dorothy went to work for the VA Medical Center, where she worked for over 20 years. She retired in 2013. Dorothy adored her grandkids. She loved baking and doing crafts with them when they were little. She was a talented crafter and did beautiful work. She was also an excellent cook, who enjoyed watching movies. Dorothy was a friend to many and will be greatly missed. She was preceded in death by her mother, Faye Moore in 1976; and a grandson, Devan James Hollabaugh in 1993. Survivors include two sons, J.W. Hollabaugh and wife Christi Hollabaugh of Amarillo, and John Hollabaugh of Amarillo; her father and step-mother, W.R. "Dub" and Betty Moore; her sister, Judy Schnell of California; four grandchildren, Neythan Hollabaugh, Alison Hollabaugh, Josie Hollabaugh, and Evan Hollabaugh all of Amarillo; a great-granddaughter, Sophia; her lifelong best friend, Samie Grisham of Amarillo; and several nieces and nephews.
