Dorothy Frances Veazey

Dorothy Frances Veazey, 90, of Amarillo died Monday, June 5, 2017. Services will be at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, June 8, 2017 at Cox Funeral Home with Charlie Cox officiating. Burial will follow at Llano Cemetery. Dorothy was born on May 25, 1927 in Corsicana to Elmer and Cleola Williams. She moved to Amarillo in childhood, graduating from Amarillo High School in 1946. She then began her employment at Santa Fe Railroad, where she worked as a clerk for over 35 years. Dorothy married Lloyd Veazey on August 22, 1970 in Tucumcari, NM. She loved to travel with her family throughout the country and shared many vacations at the family vacation home at Lake Meredith. She was a talented crafter, making china and painting ceramics as well as canvas painting. Dorothy is survived by her husband, Lloyd Veazey; son, Tracy Ball and wife Teresa of Amarillo; grandson, Trey Ball and wife Amber of Amarillo; niece, Pam Hernandez and husband Louis of Amarillo and her sister-in-law, Shirley Williams of Amarillo. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Jack Williams.
