Dow Earnest Thompson

Dow was born on March 25, 1942 in Bartlett, OH and was raised by his parents, Gus and Eutha Thompson. He moved to Amarillo during childhood, where he graduated from Tascosa High School in 1959. He then enlisted in the United States Marine Corp Reserves where he honorable served for 2 years. Dow married Elizabeth Rye on January 22, 1971 in Canyon. He worked for Owens Corning for over 18 years, retiring in 1997. Dow was a doting husband as well as a loving father and grandfather and will be greatly missed. He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Thompson of Amarillo; son, David Johns and wife Shannon of Amarillo; daughter, Lisa Doolittle and husband Terry of Amarillo; 2 brothers, Don Hickman and wife Judy of Amarillo and Dewayne Hickman of Fresno, CA and 3 grandchildren, Ryan Doolittle, Sydney and Avery Johns. He was preceded in death by his parents.
