Earl Justin Benton

Earl Justin Benton, 68, of Amarillo passed away Wednesday, November 21, 2018. Memorial services will at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 27, 2018 at Cox Funeral Home. Earl was born June 28, 1950 in Wellington, Texas to E.J. and Hester Benton. Earl was a very fun and adventurous person. He was an adrenaline junkie who enjoyed racing dune buggies. Earl was good with his hands and could weld anything he came across. He was a machinist and welder for Maywood Inc. for 30 years. Earl enjoyed cooking out; building T-bucket cars, dune buggies and racing cars and spending time with his family. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. Earl will be remembered as a loving dad, brother, Papa Earl, Grandpa Earl, uncle and soulmate. He was preceded in death by his parents. Earl is survived by his daughters, Mindy Navarro and husband Mark and Amanda Welty and husband Monty; sister, Sharon French and Danny Baucom; nephews, Shawn French and Randy French; grandchildren, Blake Navarro, Zachary Navarro, Alizabeth Navarro, Tyler Welty and Wyatt Welty; great grandchildren, Zayden Navarro and Jacobi Nevarez and his soulmate, Candice Grossman.
