Earlene Hendricks

Earlene Hendricks, 86, of Amarillo passed away on Monday, December 25, 2017. Graveside services will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday, December 29, 2017 at Memorial Park Cemetery Mausoleum with Pastor Jeff Marcoe officiating. The family will gather for visitation from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday, December 28, 2017 at Cox Funeral Home. Earlene was born on July 20, 1931 in Kingsland, Arkansas to R.T. and Ola Mae Towery. She moved to the Panhandle as a child, settling in Amarillo and graduating from Amarillo High School in 1949. She was employed at Diamond Shamrock, retiring in 1996. Earlene married Gordon D. Hendricks in 1967. He preceded her in death in 2000. She volunteered at Northwest Texas Hospital Auxiliary for 19 years and was a devoted member of Trinity United Methodist Church for over 35 years. She is survived by her son, Gordon Lee Hendricks; daughter, Judy Kayser and husband Bert; son, Glen Hendricks and wife Cassandra, all of Amarillo; sister, Mrytle Duncan of Pasadena; 8 grandchildren, Tony Kayser and wife Carrie, Kelsi Hargrove and husband Thad, Andrew Hendricks, Jacob Hendricks, Matthew Hendricks, Kimberly Purcell, Corey Whisenant and wife Racheal and Michelle Nunnery and husband Tommy; 10 great grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Don Towery; 2 step daughters, Alice Faye Hendricks and Janet Sue Mooney and her husband Gordon Hendricks. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Northwest Texas Hospital Auxiliary.
