Ed Higdon

Ed Higdon, 72, of Amarillo, passed away on Friday July 01, 2022. Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Thursday July 07, 2022 at Cox-Rowley Funeral Home, 4180 Canyon Dr. with Pastor Robby Barrett officiating. Ed will be available for viewing on Wednesday July 06, 2022 from 5:00 – 7:00 PM at the funeral home.  Arrangements are under the direction of Cox-Rowley Funeral Home.

Ed was born on October 28, 1949 in Concord, North Carolina to Edward Higdon Sr. and Doris Shaw. Ed worked for Beaver Express for 52 years before he retired just a few years ago. He was an avid fisherman in his younger days, and Enjoyed playing pool and working in the yard. Ed was an animal lover and especially enjoyed dogs. He was a true, down to earth, simple family man who made all those around him feel loved. He will be missed.

Ed was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his wife, Dottie Higdon of the home; five daughters, Tami Sandt (Jason) and Cindy Price both of Amarillo, Mandy Kelly (Scott) of Slidell, Louisiana, Renae Lewellyn (Joe) and Luci Mayes (Josh) both of Amarillo; one brother Gene Higdon (Cindy); twelve grandchildren, Tiffany, Jennifer, Jeff, Megan, Emily, Kristina, Nathaniel, Keagon, Marissa, Taylor, Austin and Masin and thirteen great grandchildren.

The family suggest that memorial donations be made to the SPCA of Amarillo or the Shriners Children’s Hospital.
