Edith Mcdowell Winkcompleck

June 26, 1922 — September 21, 2015

Edith was born on June 26, 1922 in Goodnight to John Cecil and Elizabeth McDowell. She was raised in Goodnight, where she attended school. She married Leonard Winkcompleck on August 31, 1940. They lived in Claude, where they farmed and ranched for many years before moving to Lake Tanglewood in 1980. They eventually moved to the Continental Retirement Center in 1998. Edith was a woman of many hobbies, but was an exceptionally talented china painter and seamstress as well as a marvelous cook. She was a member of First Baptist Church and the Palo Duro Porcelain Art Club. Most of all, Edith loved being a mother and a grandmother to her family and considered them to be the most important thing in her life. She is survived by her daughter, Linda Moreland and husband Dr. Henry Moreland of Canyon; 2 granddaughters, Robin Stout and husband Dennis of Austin and Holly Arredondo and husband Gerald of Arlington; 4 great grandchildren, Sean and Sarah Stout and Bryndan and K'Leigh Arredondo and many nieces nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Leonard Winkcompleck; 5 sisters and 2 brothers.
