Effie Elizabeth Smith

DUMAS - Effie E. Smith, 77, died Monday, January 12, 2015 Her graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in Dumas Cemetery. Her son, Dr. Herb Reavis will officiate. Arrangements are by Cox Funeral Home of Amarillo. Effie was born October 11, 1937, in Wellington, TX to O.R. and Annie Mae Spear. She has a son Dr. Herb Reavis Jr. whom she loved dearly. She married Wayne Smith in 1980 and together they owned Smith's Fashion Corner. She was passionate about serving her customers, and loved shopping for them at Dallas Market. She also enjoyed participating as a judge for beauty pageants. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Dumas. She was preceded in death by her husband Wayne in 2010, her parents, and a sister Pauline Boykin. Survivors include her son, Dr. Herb Reavis Jr. and wife Lisa of Jacksonville, Florida. Her grandsons Josh and wife Sarah, Jonathan and wife Rebecca and Joseph and wife Lindsey all of Jacksonville Florida. Eight great grandchildren. Her brother Paul Spear and wife Annie and their children Dennis and wife Kayla and Edie Watson and husband Russell. A nephew Rick Smith and wife Debbie and their children Tyson Smith and wife Nicole and Kendra Adcock and husband Chris. And many great great nieces and nephews. The family suggests memorials be to First Baptist Church, Dumas TX in memory of Wayne and Effie Smith
