Efren Villeda Cruz

Efren Villeda Cruz, 52, of Amarillo died Monday, April 20, 2020. Due to the current community regulations regarding large gatherings, a private graveside service will be held 10:00am Saturday at the cemetery. Efren will be available for viewing Friday, April 24, 2020, from 2:00pm - 8:00pm.

Efren was born June 9, 1967, in San Pedro Escanela, Mexico to Carmen and Maria Cruz. As a young man he enjoyed playing sports, especially soccer and basketball. Efren was a family man and enjoyed cookouts and family functions. Efren was a hard and dedicated worker and was with JBS Swift for 12 years. His son Efren remembers how much his dad made his 15th birthday so special; after receiving a Crown Victoria, he felt very loved by his father. All four of Efren’s sons remember their dad as a laid back family man, and he would give the shirt off his back for any of them. Efren was preceded in death by his father, Carmen Cruz.

Survivors include his four sons, Efran, Alan, Alex, and Charlie Cruz; his mother, Maria Cruz; four brothers, Jose, Ruben, Marcos, and Moises Villeda Cruz; two sisters, Guillermina Villeda Cruz, and Alma Villeda Cruz. Survivors also include four grandchildren.
