Elisa Mezey

Elisa Mezey, 79, of Amarillo, Texas, passed away on October 8, 2025. No services are scheduled at this time.

Elisa was born in Arizona to Annie and Domecio Aguilar on March 28, 1946. She was a trailblazer in her family, becoming the first to graduate from both high school and college. Elisa obtained her high school diploma at Tehachapi High School in California and went on to attend UC-Santa Barbara, ultimately earning her Nursing degree from SW Oregon College in Coos Bay, Oregon.

Elisa dedicated many years to her work as R.N. in California and Oregon, eventually moving to Texas in her later years to be closer to her son, Daysun. Elisa enjoyed reading and found joy in collecting shells and rocks during beach outings. She will be remembered as a devoted mother and diligent provider to her family. 

She is preceded in death by her parents, Annie and Domecio Aguilar. Elisa is survived by her sons, Daysun Mezey of Amarillo, Texas and Larik Mezey of Santa Barbara, California; as well as her three grandchildren, Kennedy, Braxton, and Makai.
