Elizabeth Brooks Buhrkuhl

Elizabeth was born June 7, 1938 in Snyder, to H.C. and Daisy Brooks. She graduated from Plainview High School in 1956 and from West Texas State College in 1960 with a degree in Homemaking.. She married Rolland Buhrkuhl on January 2, 1958 at Hale Center. Elizabeth taught school for 19 years and worked with Rolland in his accounting practice for 39 years. They returned to Canyon in 1974. She was a member of Eastern Star. Elizabeth loved her family and loved being "MiMi" . She will be remembered for her big heart and her straight forwardness. You never had to wonder where she stood. She will be dearly missed by her family, many friends and clients. She is preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Retired Colonel W.C. Brooks, and her son-in-law, Kent Johnson. She is survived by her husband, Rolland Buhrkuhl of Canyon, one son, Randy Buhrkuhl and wife Mary of Canyon; one daughter, Susan Buhrkuhl Johnson also of Canyon; two grandsons, Sean and James. She is also survived by special friends Janet and Randy Abbott, and a special little girl, Kynleigh Marie Price.
