Elizabeth "Betty" Nell Mccampbell

Betty was born November 28, 1923 in Post, Texas to Emmet and Sammie Dent. She married Howard McCampbell on April 25, 1942. She was a homemaker who enjoyed sewing, reading, and caring for her family. Betty and Howard moved to Amarillo in 1969. She was a life-long member of the Presbyterian Church, USA and was active in the work of the women of the church. She volunteered for Meals on Wheels for 14 years. Survivors include one son, David McCampbell and wife Betsy of Amarillo; two daughters, Deborah Consodine and husband Kevin of Wichita Falls, and Shannon Jarnigan of Idalou; eight grandchildren, Kelly, Chip, Amy, Tracy, Laurey, Sammie, Kay, and Mandy; 18 great-grandchildren, and six great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Howard McCampbell; 2 sisters; and 2 brothers. The family suggests memorials be made to St. Luke Presbyterian Church, 3001 Bell St. Amarillo, TX 79106; or BSA Hospice of the Southwest, 6600 Killgore Dr. Ste#110, Amarillo, TX 79106.
