Together they celebrated 55 years of marriage before his passing in 2006. Ellen dedicated much of her life to the service of her family and countless others. Her dedication to her Savior, Jesus Christ, was apparent in all of the callings she held and the service she loved to give. She was also an outstanding school teacher. She taught elementary school in Amarillo for 16 years and another 2 years in Anchorage, Alaska. In addition to her teaching career, she was a professional genealogist and had a deep passion for quilting in her spare time. Ellen was renowned for her warm hospitality. Many a stranger took refuge in her home. She was also famous for her delicious rolls and for her ability to prepare meals for large gatherings! She also volunteered at girls' camps, where her joyful spirit left a lasting impression for generations to come.
Ellen was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Lela Brock; her husband, Robert Latter Lovett; two sisters, Vertalee Coleman and Stella Sparks; and her only brother, E.C. Brock; two grandchildren, Ryan Adams and Angela Adams Jensen; and daughter-in-law, Debbie Bradford Lovett.
