He married the love of his life, Myrna Davis on February 11, 1955 in Oklahoma City. Myrna’s father performed the ceremony. The young couple started out in Oklahoma, and later moved to Amarillo in 1964, raising four sons, Johnnie, Rodney, Rickie and Jerrey. Elmer had many trades throughout his life, including farming, auto mechanics and painting, wrecker service and building houses. He changed out many transmissions over the years. He owned and operated Daniels Auto Sales for many years, until his retirement in 2018.
