Elvira "Mamas" Carrales

Elvira “Mamas” Carrales, 21, of Amarillo, passed away on Tuesday, December 7, 2021. Funeral services will be 3:00 PM Saturday, December 11, 2021 at Cox-Rowley Funeral Home Chapel, 4180 Canyon Drive. Burial will be at Llano East Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00 PM Friday at the funeral home.

Mamas was born September 19, 2000 in Amarillo to Jessica Juarez and Danny Carrales. She graduated from Tascosa High School in 2019 and attended Amarillo College. She was a talented artist, having won city and state competitions in 2016, while in high school, for a beautiful wooden wheelchair covered in jewels that she created. In addition to being very artistically talented, she was a wonderful baker. She had a huge heart and a great sense of humor. Mamas loved going to MDA camp. She adored animals and had all kinds of pets throughout her life. She aspired to one day become a veterinarian.

She is survived by her parents, Jessica Juarez and Danny Carrales; her brother, Ivan Carrales; her sister, Dani Carrales; her grandparents Elvira and Venancio Cano, and John M. Carrales all of Amarillo, and Irma and Rolando Mejorado of Weslaco, TX; aunts and uncles, Amanda Juarez and Scott Meuangkhot, Petra and Armando Pina, Juan L. Carrales, and Letty Carrales and Andres Garcia all of Amarillo, Malena and Eli Cavazos of Weslaco, and Sarah Carrales of Borger; many cousins; and her beloved dog, Zeus.
