Emery Belle Peterson

Emery Belle Peterson was born on February 18th at 6:06 a.m., weighing 1 pound, 8 ounces. In her six short days on this earth, she touched countless lives and showed so many just how deeply love can go.

Emery was preceded in death by her grandmother, Lesa Irene Peterson; her great-grandmother, Grace Belle Sumpter; and her great-grandfather, James Levoice Sumpter, who received her into heaven with open arms.

She is survived by her loving mother, Sariah Nicole Peterson; her father, Michael Dylan Peterson; and her twin sister, Avery Layne Peterson.

Though small in size, Emery proved that good things truly do come in small packages. She taught her family to never take the little things for granted and to make the most of every day. She inspired those around her to be better, to love harder, and to find strength in one another. She gave her parents the courage to continue on for her sister.

Born with only half a heart, Emery touched more hearts than many do in a lifetime. She filled the hearts of delivery doctors, the hospital flight team, an entire department of NICU nurses, cardiologists, friends, and family. She was strong, feisty, and ready to take on every challenge placed before her.
