Erla Ann Hazel Smith

Erla was born on May 7, 1939 in Oklahoma City to Earl and Ruth Hazel. She graduated from high school in Hollis, OK, where she played basketball and was a sports writer for their high school newspaper. She married William Robert Smith in 1967 in Vernon. He preceded her in death January 11, 2012. Erla worked as an installer for Southwestern Bell Telephone for many years. She was one of the pioneers and past presidents of Southwestern Bell. She was an avid Dallas Cowboys and OU Sooners fan. Survivors include her 2 daughters, Cheryl Riley and husband Danny of Whitehouse, TX and Renee Dambrosi of Amarillo; sister, Maryna Taylor of Rancho Cucamonga, Ca; 6 grandchildren, Jason McQuigg and wife Katie, Bradley McQuigg, Tina McQuigg, Amanda Hines and husband Rodney, Melissa Dambrosi and husband Jodi and Tori Dambrosi and 11 great grandchildren. The family requests memorials made to St. Stephen United Methodist Church.
