Esther (Cain) Gann

Esther Gann, 93, of Amarillo passed away Saturday, October 27, 2018. Funeral Service will be at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, November 1, 2018 at Pleasant Valley United Methodist Church; 316 Valley Avenue, Amarillo, 79108. The family will receive friends and loved ones for visitation from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 31, 2018 at Cox Funeral Home, 4180 Canyon Drive. Esther was born on July 26, 1925 in Abilene, Texas to Valentine and Georgia Cain. She married Corbett Odell Gann on January 24, 1945. They shared 59 years of marriage until his death in 2004. Esther was a faithful member of Pleasant Valley United Methodist Church where she was very active and a member of The Homebuilders Sunday School Class. She worked in a bomb factory in Wichita Falls during the war and then went on to work in ticket sales for Greyhound Bus System. Esther was a fabulous cook who baked chocolate cookies for all the neighborhood kids who would come over and play football. She will be remembered as a kind, caring and loving person who never talked bad about anyone. Esther was preceded in death by her husband, Corbett Odell and 11 brothers and sisters. She is survived by her son, Kenny Gann and wife Dena; three grandchildren and 4 Great-grandchildren.
