Etta Jane Welman Imboden

Etta Jane Welman Imboden's eternal house was completed and she moved home on Friday, June 24, 2016 at the age of 93. She was born in Oklahoma City on February 24, 1923 to Valentine Stephenson Welman Sr. and Ida May Brown Welman. She was the third of their four children. Her parents moved the family to Phoenix, AZ. when Etta was a 2 year old and she grew up there surrounded by God's incredible beauty. She graduated from North Phoenix High School, worked 1 year, then went on to attend Arizona State College at Tempe from which she graduated in Home Economics Education. While attending Arizona State, she met the love of her life, Carl Auldric Imboden. After Carl got out of the U.S. Navy, they were married on June 26, 1945. Carl's job with Southwestern Public Service took them to Roswell, NM where Jane Ellen Imboden, their daughter, was born. 10 Months later he was transferred to Guymon, Ok where, sons James Auldric and Richard Leon were born. Etta accepted Christ as her savior there and was very active in First Baptist Church of Guymon in choir, women's Missionary Union, Sunday school and VBS Teacher, involved in many committees, taught a Bible Study Class during the week which was open to any ladies who wished to attend. She belonged to several clubs and went on several mission trips her latest was to Malawi at age 75. She moved to Amarillo in 2006 to live with her daughter and son-in-law Jess and Janie Wilkins. She immediately became involved with Paramount Baptist Church Joy Class where she served as assistant teacher until she could no longer attend. She dearly loved her class members. Her life has been a testimony of the love of Jesus, His Power, His Provision and His Amazing Grace. The family requests that any gifts in honor of Etta's memory be given to fund scholarships for mission work through Paramount Baptist Church. She is survived by her 3 children; Janie Wilkins of Amarillo; Jim Imboden and wife Margie of Flower Mound, TX; Richard Imboden and wife Barbara of Winnie, TX.; her sister Clara Barber and husband Donn of Prescott Valley, AZ.; Misti Kingston and husband Jerry of Abilene, TX; Steve Basting and wife Norma of San Antonio, TX.; Amy Saunders and husband Aaron of Aurora, CO., Valerie & husband Blake Hockaday of Amarillo, TX, Shawna McBee and husband Joseph of Lawrenceville, GA.; Shea and wife Jennifer Imboden of Denton, TX.; Brandon Imboden of Tulsa, OK.; Ashley De La Paz and husband of Americo of Guymon, OK.; Tammy Haynes, Brad Coy, Ron Coy, Jared, Jennifer, Dustin, Adelynn, Ben, Sammy, Joseph, Emily, Jessie, Caleb and wife Joanna, Evan, Austin, Gideon, Teague, Abel, Asher, Solace, Celandine, Madison, Mason, Dalton, Haleigh, Eryn, Brandon, Seve, Barbara Jean, Logan, Paige, Casey, Plus numerous Nieces and Nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; Her 2 brothers, Robert G and Valentine Welman; Her husband, Carl Imboden; Her son-in-law Jess Wilkins.
