Eugene Belflower

October 20, 1942 — October 18, 2016

Eugene was born October 20, 1942 in Amarillo to Earl and Edith Belflower. He went to high school in Canyon. He married Patricia Boyles in 1960 in El Paso. He proudly served in the U.S. Air Force for 11 years. A portion of that was during the Vietnam War. Eugene and Patricia moved to the Amarillo area in 1970, then settled in Valle De Oro in 1973. Eugene worked at Bell Helicopter for 10 years. He then started Belflower Insurance, where he was an agent for 40 years, retiring in 2013. Eugene was a licensed paramedic, and volunteered for the Potter County Fire Dept. for 40 years. He enjoyed fishing, camping, woodworking. He was a stockshow judge. He raised horses and goats. Survivors include his wife, Patricia Belflower; one son, Gene Belflower and wife, Sarah of Valle De Oro; two sisters, Susan Harris and husband Mike of Amarillo, and Maria Simonson and husband Steve of Bisbee, AZ; one brother, Burnett Belflower and wife Pam of El Paso; his father and step-mother, Edward L. and Joyce Howard of Glazier; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be made to the Potter Co. Fire Dept., 2301 E. Willow Creek Dr., Amarillo, TX 79108.
