Euna Jean Alfred

Euna Jean Alfred, 91, of Amarillo, passed away on Friday, January 21, 2022. Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Tuesday at Cox-Rowley Funeral Home Chapel, 4180 Canyon Drive, with Pastor Rick Chadick of The Loft Church officiating. The burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00 PM Monday at the funeral home.

Euna was born July 23, 1930 in Hanna, Oklahoma to Argus and Lula Mae Bean. She grew up around Checotah, Oklahoma. She married the love of her life, Ernie Alfred, on May 16, 1952 in Checotah. They moved to Texas for the last time in 1962, and lived at the Palisades for many years. Euna and Ernie enjoyed 69 years of marriage until his passing in July of 2021. The couple were former members of the Palisades Church. Euna worked for Kerr Paper Co., Camel’s Candy Factory and Levi Strauss, all in Amarillo. In her spare time, she enjoyed gardening and sewing. She was a wonderful cook and the most kind and gentle Granny to her grandkids and great-grandkids. The family would like to extend special thanks to Legacy Rehab and Living, and BSA Hospice of the Southwest for their loving care of Euna.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ernie Alfred; three brothers, Charles C. Bean, Ray Bean and Kenneth Bean; and a sister, Louise Storm.

Survivors include two sons, Stanley Alfred and wife Frita, and Frankie Dale and wife Frankie Lee all of Amarillo; a brother, Leon Bean of Russell, KS; two sisters, Margie Brock and husband Charlie of Checotah, OK and Ozella Storm of Russell, KS; six grandchildren, Sheila Martinez and husband Ronnie, David Alfred, Stephanie Smith, Stacy Cruz and husband Frank, Michael Alfred and Anthony Alfred and wife Desiree; ten great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

The family suggests memorials may be made to the Village of Palisades Volunteer Fire Dept.
