Evalyn Riddle of Amarillo passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 12, at the age of 67. Evalyn was born to Garland and Eva Lincycomb on December 8, 1948, in Memphis, Tx. She married Bennie E. Riddle on March 28, 1968. They owned Happy Home Child Care Center in Devine, Tx. for seven years where she shaped many young lives. Upon moving back to Amarillo, she worked 22 years as a telephone operator for Southwestern Bell. After her retirement, she devoted her time to caring for her family, friends, and anyone else in need including many animals. She never turned her back on those who asked for help. Her kindness, strength, and love are an everlasting legacy and testimony to her faith and love for Jesus. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Mrs. Riddle is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Penny and Jaime Lucero and Karen and Daniel Grove, all of Amarillo; her sister Laveta; her brothers, Larry and Jesse; four grandchildren, Allyson, Justin, Kodi, and Eryn; a great-granddaughter, Khloe; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bennie; father, Garland; mother, Eva; stepfather, Ralph; Four brothers. Darrell Wayne, Lowell Sr., Chris, and David; and two sisters-in-law, Nora and Roxanne.
