Fern Anderwald

Fern Anderwald, 101, of Groom, passed into the arms of Jesus on Tuesday, June 16, 2020, at her home surrounded by her family. Memorial services will be 10:00 AM Saturday at First Baptist Church in Groom with Pastor Andy Dietz officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Cox-Rowley Funeral Home.

Fern was born November 3, 1918, to William and Annette Knutson in Shamrock. Fern was an avid reader, and remained family focused throughout her life, She was dedicated to her home, Family, and Children. She enjoyed fishing, and mountain climbing. Fern loved to travel with her family, and among many favorite places her favorite was Colorado. She was preceded in death by her parents; Husband Tommy Anderwald; one son, Charles Jackson; Grandson, Robert Wayne Jackson; two grandchildren, Andrew Rapstine and Aaron Anderwald.

Survivors include her son, Kenneth Jackson and wife Phillis of Groom; Daughter, Twila Jo Jackson; one step son, Robert Anderwald of Pampa; one step daughter, Carolyn Rapstine and husband Gregory of White Deer; Eleven grandchildren, Kristi Parrott, Dean Jackson, Chy Jackson, Martie Jo Phillips, Ashley Cockrell, Rick York, Carmel Dickerman, Mike Rapstine, Chris Rapstine, Theresa Rapstine Schafer, and Angie Rapstine Lindgren; many Great grandchildren. Survivors also include a host of additional family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggest memorials be made to the Groom ambulance service and Fire department.
