It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Fernando Chairez-Garcia, a beloved father, husband, friend, and pillar of strength. He departed from this world on 10/21/2023, in the embrace of his family, leaving behind a legacy of love and wisdom that will forever endure in our hearts.

Born in Milpillas De La Sierra, Valparaiso, Zacatecas, Mexico 01/06/1938, Fernando Chairez-Garcia was a man of unwavering character, kindness, and resilience. His life was a testament to the power of hard work, dedication, and a deep love for his family. He touched the lives of everyone he encountered, leaving a lasting impression of warmth, generosity, and a great sense of humor.

Fernando Chairez-Garcia was a devoted husband to Rosa Maria Hernandez-Torres, a loving father to nine children: Luciano, Efigenia, Cristina, Gabriela, Alma, Carmela, Fernando, Eva, Edgar, and his siblings, Margarita, Angel, Gonzalo, Oliva, Antonia, Emilia, Eva and Concepcion (Concha). He was a cherished grandfather to twenty-eight grandkids: Luciano Jr, Juan Carlos, Cecilia, Fernando, Laura, Lizeth, Kevin, Edith, Marlene, Elaine, Alvaro, Lupita, Stephanie, Juan, Angelica, Ashley, Xitlaly, Alma, Juan Pablo, Brenda, Briana, Saira, Juan, Eric, Marta, Edgar Jr, Josue, Natalie. In addition to a total of twenty-one great-grandchildren. He cherished his family above all else, finding immense joy in spending time with his loved ones, sharing stories, and creating lasting memories.

A man of many talents, Fernando Chairez-Garcia was known for being a hardworking man. He played in a Mexican band, he was a carpenter, farmer, rancher, and he enjoyed going to work all his life until his last days. He did it with dedication and a smile that warmed the hearts of those around him.

In addition to his personal pursuits, Fernando Chairez-Garcia had a profound impact on his community in Amarillo. He will be remembered for his compassion and willingness to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.

Fernando Chairez-Garcia had a gift for storytelling, and his tales from when he used to live in Mexico, farming, and ranching, were a source of inspiration and laughter to all who had the privilege of hearing them. His laughter was infectious, and his wisdom was a guiding light for those seeking counsel.

A celebration of Fernando Chairez-Garcia's life will take place on 10/27/2023 at 10:00 am at St Joseph’s Catholic Church, 4122 Bonham St, Amarillo, Texas. We invite all who knew him to join us in paying our respects and sharing stories of the remarkable man he was.

Fernando Chairez-Garcia touched the lives of many, and his spirit will live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him. His absence is deeply felt, but his love and wisdom will remain with us forever in our hearts. May he rest in peace.
