Frances O. Holland

Frances was born February 26, 1926 outside of Wellington to Fred and Lela Adkins. She graduated from Clarendon High School, and attended Clarendon College and later Amarillo College. She married Howard Holland on April 1, 1944. She worked as social editor for the Borger Daily Herald at age 17, and for the Amarillo Times at age 19. She then worked at home, raising her family for the next 27 years. She worked for Williams & Boyce Insurance Agency as a bookkeeper until her retirement in 1988. Frances' favorite pastime was doing things with and for her grandchildren. She was a member of Paramount Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Beverly Medlin in 2004; and four brothers. Survivors include a daughter, Sandi Bryant and husband Mike of Amarillo; two sons, Anthony Holland and wife Eileen of Kansas City, MO, and Malcolm Holland of Bonham; a brother, Luther Adkins of Granbury; 13 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
