Freddie Harris, 68, of Amarillo, passed away on Tuesday December 27, 2022. Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Saturday December 31, 2022 at Pray Amarillo, 4000 SW 50th Ave. with Pastor Errol Hainer officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00 PM on Friday December 30, 2022 at the funeral home. Freddie will be laid to rest at Rowe Cemetery in Hedley, Texas. Arrangements are under the direction of Cox-Rowley Funeral Home.
Freddie was born in Amarillo to Fred and Evelyn Harris on April 22,1954. Freddie enjoyed playing games, specifically farkle, and was an avid dog lover. He enjoyed having his chiweenie, Doc, close by at all times. Freddie was a talented musician, always looking for an opportunity to sing and play music. He played lead guitar in his band, “Shiloh Creek” for most of his singing career. Freddie was loved by so many and will be missed.
Freddie was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Joyce Trask.
Survivors include his daughter, Shanna Hatten (Bo); his sons, Freddie Harris Jr. (Becky) and Michael Ray Harris; three sisters, Margie Ray, Darlene Berg (Mark) and Tammy Lee (Jerry); two brothers, Jason Harris and Billy Warner (Treva); one brother in law, Garry Trask; nine grandchildren, one great grandchild and two on the way; survivors also include his long time close friend and bandmate, Chano Preciado.
