Freida I. Byram

October 22, 1947 — August 28, 2015

Freida was born on October 22, 1947 in Dalhart to Walter C. and Mabel Baker. She was raised in Hartley, where she graduated from Hartley High School as Valedictorian in 1966. She then moved to Amarillo, where she met her husband of 47 years, Les Byram. They were married on February 17, 1968 in Hartley. Freida devoted her life to loving and caring for her family. She was an involved parent and a doting grandmother who supported her grandchildren in all they did. She loved scorekeeping for Parks and Recreations softball for 35 years. She touched many lives in softball, baseball and basketball by keeping score or as a fan in the stands. Freida enjoyed cross stitching, crochet and working puzzles in her free time as well as vacationing with her family. She and Les have been members of Trinity United Methodist Church for over 40 years. She is survived by her husband, Les Byram of Amarillo; 2 daughters, Diane Byram and Debra Nunez and husband Oswaldo, all of Amarillo; 3 grandchildren, Chris Byram, Ciera Nunez and Payton Nunez and sister-in-law, Virginia Baker of Dalhart. She was preceded in death by her Parents; 3 brothers, Jesse, Charlie and Tom Baker and sister, Margie Williams.
