Gary Long

Gary Long, 72, of Amarillo, passed into the arms of Jesus on Thursday May 25, 2023. Graveside services will be 2:00 PM Tuesday May 30, 2023 at Memory Gardens Cemetery with Brother Bob Miller officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Cox-Rowley Funeral Home.

Gary was born on August 31, 1950 in Crosbyton, Texas to Ruby and Arnold Long. On October 17, 1992 he married his wife, Debby and together they enjoyed over 30 years of marriage. Gary enjoyed spending time in the garden and tinkering in his workshop. He was also a talented artist who like to draw in his spare time. Gary was an avid traveler; He and Debby loved spending time in the mountains. His passion was to spend time in the company of the ones he loved, four wheeling in the mountain peaks of Colorado, where they went nearly every year. Gary loved his family and being surrounded by them all during the holiday season. He was loved by so many and will be missed.

Gary was preceded in death by his parents.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Debby Long of the home; three sons, Ryan Long of Virginia, Brandon Long and wife Belinda and Jared Long and wife Holly all of Amarillo; one sister, Arnell Scott; five grandchildren and one great grandchild. Survivors also include a close family friend Betty “Manny” Ford of Amarillo.
