Gary Robinson, 60, of Amarillo passed away Monday, May 26, 2014.
Gary was born on August 21, 1953 in Groom to George and Wanda Robinson. He was raised in Skellytown and graduated from White Deer High School in 1971. He then enlisted in the United States Navy in 1971, where he was stationed in New Orleans. Gary was honorably discharge in 1976. Upon his discharge, he enrolled in the police academy in Amarillo. He first began employment for Potter County, where he worked as a deputy jailer for 2 years. He then began his employment with the Randall County Sherriff's Office. Gary was a dedicated deputy who strived to reaching the highest ranks, beginning as patrol corporal, then a field training officer, a sergeant of the Narcotics Department, and eventually Sergeant Rangemaster. He was a firearms training officer and was a member of the H.E.A.T. team. Gary married Jennifer Reasoner, the love of his life, in Santa Fe, NM. They enjoyed vacationing together, especially to Red River. Most of all, Gary was a devoted family man.
He is survived by his wife, Jennifer Robinson of Amarillo; daughters, Wendy Miller and husband Andrew of Los Angeles, CA, Ashton Sims, Abby Sims and Kailee Simms, all of Canyon; son, Austin Sims of White Deer; 2 sisters, Sheila Hartman and husband Randy of Amarillo and Vickie Slate and husband Elijah of Pampa; brother, Roger Jones and wife Colleen of Jackson, MS and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Wanda Everson and father, George Robinson
