Gayle Fowler, 91, of Amarillo, passed away on Saturday, August 23, 2025. Memorial services will be 2:00 PM Wednesday, August 27, 2025 at Cox-Rowley Funeral Home Chapel, 4180 Canyon Drive.
Gayle was born March 10, 1934 in Memphis, Texas to Lloyd and Edith Fowler. He graduated in Estelline and went on to proudly serve in the U.S. Army. Gayle made his career as a conductor for BNSF Railroad, retiring in 1995.
Gayle enjoyed going to the lake, fishing and playing golf. He loved to travel to Las Vegas casinos. He was a good grandpa to his many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was a former member of Bell Ave. Baptist Church.
Gayle was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Gerald Dude Fowler, Ted Fowler, and Laddy Fowler; and a sister, Winfred Jo Hickey.
Survivors include two sons, Shannon Fowler of Shadduck, OK and Lance Fowler of Amarillo; two daughters, Tambra Terbush and husband Scott of Amarillo and Sabrina Dean and husband Gary of Athens, AL; nine grandchildren, Shad Fowler, Michael Fowler and wife Holly, Kori Cleavenger and husband Kyle, Josh Terbush and wife Sarah, Heather Markley and husband Bryce, Zach Kelley and wife Stephanie Martinez-Kelley, Jada Kelley, Ky Gripp and Keili Gripp; and 14 great-grandchildren.
