Gene "Andy" Thomas Andrews

Gene “Andy” Thomas Andrews, 81, of Amarillo passed away on Thursday, September 9, 2021. Arrangements are under the direction of Cox-Rowley Funeral Home, 4180 Canyon drive in Amarillo.

Andy was born May 5, 1940 in Los Angles, California to Clarence and Hazel Andrews. He graduated from Laton High School. He proudly served in the United States Air Force, where he was a mechanic, working on the infamous Thunder Birds planes.  Andy married the love of his life, Joan in Las Vegas on July 10, 1973. Together they shared 48 lovely years together, and raise six children. Andy had a passion for driving trucks, as he loved to drive around the country. He also enjoyed camping, fishing and traveling with his wife. Andy had a love for bingo and casinos. He loved to harass his wife and spoil his grandchildren. He was a very patient, kind and loving man who will be dearly missed.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers; Steve and Carl Andrews.

Survivors include his wife Joan Andrews; two daughters, Diane Seymore of Odessa, TX and Terri Caldwell of Amarillo; four sons, Michael Andrews and wife Angel Marie of Oregon, Stephen Andrews of Hanford, CA, Ridge Andrews and wife Sara of Visalia, CA and  Christopher Tuttle of Amarillo; ten grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and numerous other family members.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the VFW of Amarillo Post #1475.
