George Edward Austin

George's sunrise was April 27, 1931 in Chicago, IL. His parents were Edward Allen and Hazel Gertrude Austin. He graduated from Carver High School in Amarillo. He also attended Huston Tillotson College in Austin. He was raised by his aunts, and had a kind and loving spirit. He was a real people person that was slow to anger. He worked for Toot-N-Totum, North State Bank, and Rick Husband Amarillo Airport. He was the best bartender in the state. He loved bartending and serving people as their personal valet. He was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church. He is preceded in death by his parents, a brother, John Austin, and his special aunts. He is survived by his beloved wife, Marion Austin; his sons, Dwight Austin, and wife Muthoni of Dallas, Duane Austin, Derrick Austin both of Amarillo; his loving daughter Dawn Austin of Amarillo; a sister, Irean Brown of Tacoma WA; three nieces, Kim Austin, Jelean Austin, both of Chicago, IL, and Angela Austin Burrell of Amarillo; one nephew, Ronald Austin of Amarillo; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.
