Gerald "Jerry" Mcnabb

October 26, 1941 — August 5, 2014

Jerry was born on October 26, 1941 in the Panama Canal Zone to James and Elvira McNabb. He attended schools in the Panama Canal, where he also graduated from Balboa High School. He enlisted in the United States Army 1963 working to the rank of Chief Warrant officer. While serving in Korea, he volunteered much of his time, helping children in a local orphanage. Jerry also served in Vietnam, Germany and Iraq. He retired and was honorably discharged after 30 years of service. Jerry was a passionate scuba diver and loved fishing and being outdoors. He was also and enthusiastic bowler. He is survived by his wife, Mary McNabb of Amarillo; sons, Francisco Gerald McNabb and wife Angela of Ozark, AL and Tommy James Lopez and wife Tonya of Lewisville, TX; daughters, Diana Gina Carroll of Austin and Mona Jean LaFever and husband Clint of Amarillo; brother, James W. McNabb of San Diego, CA, Charles Francis McNabb and wife Jackie of Lakeland, FL and Richard McNabb and wife Helen of Amarillo; sister, Julie Glover and husband Johnny of Amarillo, Mary E. McNabb and husband Bobby of Leeds, AL and Dorothy Thrash and husband Rayvon of Brundidge, AL; grandchildren, Joseph Everett McNabb of Ozark, AL, Taran Allen McNabb of Fort Lee, Virginia, Robyn Ashley Wilson of Austin, Cori-Ann Christine Carroll of Austin, Mason James LaFever of Amarillo, Caden Eric LaFever of Amarillo and Serenity Faith Lopez of Lewisville, TX . He is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Barbara Hillard and a granddaughter, Jacklyn McNabb.
