KINCH, Gerald T. "Jerry" Age 78, Date Of Birth December 24, 1935 The angels came for Jerry on: May 3, 2014. Celebration Of Life Service: 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 7, 2014 at South Lawn Baptist Church Rev. Greg Kinch officiating. Jerry was born on December 24, 1935 in Hamilton, Ohio to Earl and Modena Kinch. He was raised in Hamilton, graduating from Hamilton High School in 1953. He went on to attend college at Capital University and the University of Cincinnati and eventually graduated from Amarillo Baptist Seminary Extension through the Amarillo Baptist Association. Jerry was drafted into the United States Army in 1954. He proudly served as Sgt. 1st Class during the Korean Conflict and was stationed in Philadelphia where he was trained in use with Nike missiles. He was honorably discharged in January of 1958. Upon his return, he married Jackie Parry on January 11, 1958 in Kingston, PA. Jerry worked as a music minister and a youth minister most of his life in Ohio, Florida and Texas. He always had a great love for music, playing in big bands during high school and was a talented trumpeter. He was known for his social personality and loved to share stories and experiences with his friends, family and acquaintances. Jerry also loved computer technology and enjoyed playing computer games and the social media. He became a Christian in 1958 and was a devoted member of South Lawn Baptist Church. Survivors: wife, Jackie Kinch of Amarillo; 2 sons, Pastor Greg Kinch and wife Charlotte of Amarillo and Billy Kinch and wife Marci of Lubbock; 2 brothers, Wally Kinch and wife Jan of Hamilton, OH and Marvin Kinch and wife Priscilla of Somerset, KY; 5 grandchildren, Kayla Allen and husband Tyler, Cody Kinch, Ty Kinch, Tayler Parker; Trey Parker and his favorite cousin, Tommie Smith and sister-in-law, Lenore Humphreys of Mt. Wolfe, PA. Preceded In Death By: father, Earl Kinch, mother, Modena Zellner and step-father, William Zellner.
