Geraldine Joyce Frye Clark Murray

"Jerre" as all her friends and family called her, was born in Oshkosh, Wisconsin on January 12, 1931 to Clifford and Dorothea Edwards. The family moved to Rapid City, South Dakota in 1942. Jerre graduated from Rapid City High School. She married Harry Frye, Jr., a service man, in 1948. They lived in many places while he was in the Army. They had 5 children, each in a different place around the globe. When Harry retired from the service, they moved to Amarillo. Harry worked for Bell Helicopter until his death in 1978. Jerre worked for Sears for 11 years until she married Mike Clark of Hereford. She worked for J.C. Penney Co. in Hereford until it closed and then for Anthony's until her retirement. She was very active in church and the Hereford Senior Citizens Center. She served as president of the Board of the Center in 1999. She was also a hospice volunteer. She enjoyed traveling, fishing and most of all, being with her family and friends. She is survived by her husband, Leon Murray of Hereford; 5 children, daughter, Cyndee Foley and husband Mike of Vail, AZ, daughter, Janet Sorenson of Amarillo; son, David Frye and wife Anne of Canyon, daughter, Laura Frye of Amarillo, son, Daniel Frye and wife Lisa of Amarillo; 9 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren and 4 step children, Pat Holcomb and husband Pete of Amarillo, Mary Sue Crawford and husband R.C. of Santa Clara, CA, Lloyd Murray and wife Joan of Yuma, AZ and Robert Murray and wife Sharron of Yuma, AZ. She was preceded in death by her parents; 2 brothers, Don and Clifford Edwards and her husbands, Harry Frye, Jr. and Mike Clark. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Cal Farley's Boys Ranch, the Alzheimer's Association of America or the American Stroke Association. The family would like to thank the caring staff of Ware Living Facility, especially the Village, for their care of Mom during her illness.
