Geraldine Lee Ponder

Geraldine Lee Ponder, 100, of Amarillo, died Friday, November 9, 2018.  Graveside services will be 2:00 pm Monday at Memory Gardens Cemetery. Geraldine was born November 5, 1918 in Amarillo to Alvin and Hazel Corbin. She married D.H. Ponder on June 17, 1936. They enjoyed 50 years of marriage together. Geraldine loved life. She dedicated her life to caring for her family. She had a great sense of humor and an extremely kind heart. Geraldine was very involved in Cub Scouts, Brownies, and Girl Scouts with her kids. She collected anything and everything. She loved her jewelry and beautiful things. She enjoyed music and cowboy western shows. She will be greatly missed by all who loved her. Geraldine was preceded in death by her husband, D.H. Ponder; a son, Gary Ponder; a grandson, Mark Oakley; and a sister, Earnestine Corbin. Survivors include a son, Robert Ponder of Amarillo; a daughter, Gwen Oakley of Keller; five grandchildren, Curtis Worth and wife Joni of Saginaw, TX, Angie Oakley of Keller, Rome Blaylock, Amber Ponder, and Megan Ponder all of Amarillo; 14 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.  Please sign our online guestbook at www.coxfuneralhomeamarillo.com.
