Geraldine (Wright) Powers

December 31, 1926 — November 29, 2021

Geraldine Powers, 94, of Amarillo passed away Monday November 29, 2021. Funeral services will be 10:00 Friday December 3, 2021 at Memory Gardens Mausoleum with Pastor Robby Barrett officiating. The family will be accepting friends at 5:00-7:00 PM Thursday December 2, 2021 at Cox-Rowley Funeral Home. Arrangements are under the direction of Cox-Rowley Funeral Home.

Geraldine was born on December 31, 1926 in Deport, TX to Henry and Jesse Wright. She attended Deport High School. Geraldine worked in the local soda shop in Deport where she the met the man who stole her heart, Talma Powers. She would make him milkshakes when he would frequently stop by to see her on his lunch break. They were married on October 12, 1946. Together they shared 76 years of marriage, a daughter, an amazing life and many memories. Geraldine enjoyed traveling and camping and fishing with her husband and daughter. She had a craft for sewing, as she had sown all of Linda’s clothing when she was young. Geraldine loved her family fiercely, she was “Mimi” to her grandbabies. She always put her family first, she took care of everyone before herself. Geraldine loved to cook. She would make chocolate turtles, peanut brittle, chocolate eclairs and her infamous butter cake.  Geraldine was the greatest, she will be dearly missed.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister; 3 brothers.

Survivors include her loving husband of 75 years, Talma; her daughter Linda Lindley and husband Michael of Amarillo; three grandchildren, Justin Mullins and wife Lisa of Odessa; Josh Lindley of Amarillo; Kyle Lindley and wife Kala of Pampa; six great-grandchildren, Lynsey Brown and husband Jordan of Amarillo; Kalie Mullins of Amarillo; Riley Parks and husband Dylan of Garden City, KS; Taylor Lindley of Plainview; Devin Lindley of Pampa; Aubreigh Lindley of Pampa; and five great-great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to be made to BSA Hospice of the Southwest, 5211 SW 9th Suite 100 Amarillo, TX 79106.
