Gerelene (Hemelstrand) Swindell

Gerelene Swindell, 87, of Amarillo passed away on March 17, 2023. A private family burial is scheduled. Arrangements are under the direction of Cox-Rowley Funeral Home.

Gerelene was born on April 6, 1935 in Hedley, Texas to Ben and Lela Hemelstrand. She loved her family fiercely and especially her Lord and Savior.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Bobby and Paul; her loving husband M.L.; her son, Andy; and her daughter-in-law Carolyn.

Survivors include her son, Jack Swindell of Amarillo; her daughters, Cindy Terk and husband Michael of Amarillo; Donna Hunnicutt of Austin; her six grandchildren, Bonnie Kellogg and husband Donnie of Amarillo; B.J. Hunnicutt of Austin; Jerrod Swindell of Amarillo; Kelle Bankhead and husband Scott of Dallas; Angela Pisani of Austin; Thomas Hunnicutt and wife Carolina of Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates; ten great grandchildren; and one great-great granddaughter due in June. Survivors include a host of other family members.
