Gertrude "Nan" Light

January 31, 1922 — August 5, 2016

Nan was born January 31, 1922 in Flomot, to Myrtle and Robert Martin. She married C.C. Light in Motley County, TX in 1937. Together, their love for rodeo was beyond imagination. They were very active with the Tri-State High School Rodeo. She has always been a rodeo wife, mother and grandmother and their love for rodeo and children, have shaped many lives along the way. Also, Nan was an amazing cook. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, C.C., 3 brothers, 1 sister and 2 daughters, Lillian Bates and Carrol Ferguson. She is survived by her children, Glenda Brazile-Horney and husband Guy of Ft. Sumner, NM, Jerry Light of Amarillo and Susan Watson of Roswell, NM; son-in-law, Warren Ferguson of Amarillo; 6 grandchildren, Lee Bates and wife Michelle, Trevor Brazile and wife Shada, Manchie Hughes and husband Kyle, Casey Jo Snelson and husband Charles, Dan Ferguson and wife Rhonda, Dewayne Bates and wife Andrea and 14 great grandchildren.
