Glen Alan Harris

Glen Harris, 66, of Amarillo, passed away October 13, 2020, in Amarillo. Memorial services will be 10:00 AM Friday October 16, 2020 at The Cole Community Center, 300 16th street, Canyon, TX. Glen was born in Slaton, Texas to Marvin and Claudine Harris. He graduated from Dumas High School in 1973 and went on to Amarillo College where he obtained his associates degree. Glen retired as a Texas State Fire Marshall after fifteen years of service and worked on the Dumas Police Department for eleven years. Glen had a strong personality and was always dressed well and looking nice was important to him. He was a sweet and kind-hearted man who loved his wife Gay dearly. Glen loved his dachshund, Riley and they both looked out for one another. He was preceded in death by his parents and one nephew, Lance Morris. Survivors include his wife, Gay Harris of the home; two sons, Brandon Harris and wife Jayde of Canyon and Chad Harris and wife Katy of Vega; one stepdaughter, Abby Williams and husband Colt of Amarillo; one sister, Shera May and husband Doug; 4 grandsons and 2 granddaughters.
