Celebration of Life Services will be 2:00 PM Friday, September 26, 2025 at Messiah’s House, 6901 Bell St. Private family graveside will be at Memory Gardens Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:30 – 7:00 PM Thursday, September 25, 2025 at Cox-Rowley Funeral Home, 4180 Canyon Drive.
Glenn was born on July 30, 1950, in Hereford, Texas to Homer and Louella Thomas. He lived a life filled with love, humor, and devotion to family. On September 21, 2025, he passed from this world, leaving behind a legacy that will be cherished forever.
In March of 1972, Glenn married the love of his life, Mozelle. Together, they shared over 53 years of laughter, partnership, and unwavering love. Their family grew to include three children—David, Andrea, and Micah—and later, the joys of grandchildren and a great-grandchild who lit up his world.
Glenn served his country honorably in the U.S. Air Force, having been stationed in the Philippines, Guam and Thailand during the Vietnam War. After his discharge from the service, he began a career working with farmers in the seed business, later answering a higher calling by returning to school and becoming a special education teacher. At Amarillo ISD, he poured his heart into his students until his retirement, and is still remembered by many for his laugh, humor, kindness, and encouragement.
Glenn had a gift for humor—always quick with a joke, a witty comment, or a playful story. He loved golf, but most of all, he loved his wife, children, grandchildren, and great-grandson. His family was his pride and joy, and nothing brought him more happiness than being surrounded by them. Those who knew Glenn will remember his warmth, his humor, and the way he lit up every room he entered; never meeting a stranger. He leaves behind not only memories, but a legacy of love, laughter, and family devotion that will live on through those who loved him. Glenn’s life reflected the promise of John 10:10—he lived fully, joyfully, and with a heart overflowing for others.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, David Thomas; a daughter, Andrea Dobbs; two sisters, Sue Heath and Frances Smith; and a brother, Charlie Thomas.
Glenn leaves behind his beloved wife, Mozelle; daughter, Micah Smith and husband Jonathan of Amarillo; six grandchildren, Max Thomas, Shelby Thomas, Sam Thomas, Kyler Dobbs, Addison Dobbs, Cole Thomas and wife Destiny; and one great-grandson, Jordan Thomas.
The family suggests memorial donations may be made to Messiah’s House, 6901 Bell St. Amarillo, TX 79109.
