Gloria Jean Travis was born August 13, 1959 in Louisville, Kentucky to the late Dorothy Lee Finn and Roger Hughes. She was one of seven children of which Linda Gale, Betty, and Charles preceded her in death.
Gloria and her family moved to Amarillo, TX in 1986. She retired from Tyson Foods, where she worked for approximately 33 years, where she had a strong presence and developed lifelong friendships with her co-workers. She gave her life to God at an early age and a current member of Church of the Living God #213.
A true pillar of strength. The shining star in the darkest times. There is nothing she wouldn’t give, the greatest of which was simply being in her presence. Gloria raised her boys to be men and always had her door open for those in need. When spirits were down, all Gloria had to say to give you strength was, ‘it will be ok.’
Left to cherish her memory, her husband, Cordell Travis, four sons, Cordell D. Travis, his wife, Charity. Dewight Travis (Toshia.) Leon Travis (Leejane.) Raheem Travis (Janelle.) All who reside in Amarillo & Prosper, TX. One sister, Patricia Wharton, three brothers, David, Gregory, and Marvin Finn all of whom reside in Louisville, KY. Gloria has 13 grandchildren, Trinitie, Demetrius, Briona, Jayden, Zania, Skyanna, Darius, Lashae, Autumn, Lincoln, Elliana, Hallie, Katelyn, and Mackenzie. All of Amarillo, TX. She had a host of nieces and nephews including Micheal Anthony Finn who also preceded her. Gloria (Aunt Noot, Glo-Jean, Mrs. Travis, Momma) will truly be missed.
