Gloria Eugenia (Tarin) Watts

Gloria Eugenia Tarin Watts, 94, of Amarillo, passed away on Saturday, January 12, 2019. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 2:00 pm Tuesday at St. Martin’s de Porres, 1507 N. Adams with Msgr. Rex Nicholl officiating. Rosary will be prayed at 7:00 pm Monday at Cox Funeral Home, 4180 Canyon Dr. Burial will be at Llano Cemetery. Gloria was born July 13, 1924 in Alpine, Texas to Robert Tarin and Zenaida Rey. She married Fermin Rios Watts in Alpine. Gloria was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She worked as a house keeper. She was an extremely hard worker. Gloria’s family came first, no matter what. She was a very strong woman who will be dearly missed by all who loved her. She was a member of St. Martin’s de Porres. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Fermin R. Watts; two sons, Frank Watts and Freddie Watts; a daughter, Gloria Watts; a brother, Roberto Tarin, Jr.; and a sister, Elma Ballin. Survivors include three sons, Jimmy Cano, Joe T. Cano, and Fermin T. Watts and wife Mary all of Amarillo; a daughter, Victoria Watts Tijerina and husband Robert Tijerina; 14 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and many great-great-grandchildren. The family suggests memorials may be made to the Professional Firefighters Relief Fund, 613 SE 46th St. Amarillo, TX 79118.
