Gordon "Gordie" Carroll

Gordie was born on July 25, 1942 in Amarillo to W.J. and Lois Carroll. He attended school in Amarillo before his honorable service in the United States Army. He married his best friend, Sudie Trevathan in 1965 in Amarillo. They lived in Garland for seven years before returning to Amarillo. She preceded him in death on May 2, 2009. He and Sudie were avid collectors of exotic birds and loved and treated them as their children. Gordie worked for Southwest Body Shop for over 30 years. He is survived by his 3 brothers, Kenneth Carroll and wife Carol of Amarillo, Bob Carroll and wife Barbara of Bossier, LA and Ricci Carroll of Houston; sister, Charlotte Riddell of Childress; several nieces and nephews and his African Gray parrot, Charlie. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Sudie Carroll; brother-in-law, Gaylean Riddell; niece, Jordan Riddell and sister-in-law, "Beegee" Carroll.
