Grady Anne Jacob

Grady Anne Jacob, 87, of Amarillo, passed away on Sunday, February 26, 2023. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Friday at Washington Ave, Christian Church, 3800 S. Washington St. with Pastor Shane Wyly officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00 PM Thursday at Cox-Rowley Funeral Home, 4180 Canyon Drive.

Grady Anne was born October 18, 1935 in Canyon, Texas to Orville and Marie Donnell. She graduated from Amarillo High School and went on to attend business college. She married the love of her life Billy Jack Jacob on November 22, 1951 in New Mexico. They were members of Washington Ave. Christian Church for all the years they lived in Amarillo. Grady Anne worked for TG&Y as a “paid thief”. She packed goods into purses to see if the cashier would catch it. She also worked for Tom Spiller at Greyhound Bus, and did secretarial work for an insurance company. Mostly, Grady Anne was a loving and devoted wife and mother. She was the team mom for John’s little league baseball team. She enjoyed square dancing with “Ye Old Squares”, and was an excellent bridge player. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Billy Jack Jacob; a son, John Jacob; and a grandson, Conner Jacob.

Survivors include two daughters, Cathy Lamberth and husband Jay of Tijeras, NM, and Linda Richardson and husband Bill of Amarillo; a son, Brian Jacob of Amarillo; a brother, Bill Donnell and wife Sharon of Houston; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
