Greg S. Linley, 58, of Amarillo, passed away on Friday, December 25, 2020. Funeral services will be 10:00 Tuesday at Journey Church, 9711 FM 2186. Burial will be at Llano Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00 PM Monday at Cox-Rowley Funeral Home, 4180 Canyon Drive. The service will be live-streamed. Greg was born March 13, 1962 in Amarillo to Dewey and Betty Linley. He attended Palo Duro High School. He married the love of his life, Vicki Smith, on January 16, 1982. Greg and Vicki met at their first Palo Duro football game when they were in Jr. High School. They were an item since the 7th grade. They were blessed with a unique love story that many people never have. Greg worked for Imperial Services. His coworkers were like family to him, and he loved every one of them. Greg loved taking his family to the lake in the summer. He enjoyed camping, boating, and fishing. He loved sports and was very involved with Kid’s Inc. Kid’s Inc. was a huge part of Greg’s life. He was a great coach, referee, and helped the teams get outfitted for games. He also coached all his own kids’ sports teams. He was a member of the Texas Association of Sports Officials. For them, he umpired for over 20 years. Greg was an avid fan of the Texas Rangers, Texas Longhorns, Dallas Cowboys, and the Amarillo Sodpoodles. He also never missed a Tascosa football game. Greg loved his family and friends more than anything in the world. There is nothing he wouldn’t do for them. He and Vicki were former members of Tascosa Road Fellowship. Greg will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Greg was surrounded by his family at the time of his death due to Covid. The family requests that those attending the service please wear a mask. Greg was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Nicky Linley; his grandparents, Admiral and Grace Linley; and his parents-in-law, Bob and Peggy Smith. Survivors include his wife, Vicki Linley; a son, William Linley of Amarillo; two daughters, Samantha Linley (Weston Smith), and Hannah Linley (Kyle Gonzalez) all of Amarillo; a sister, Kim Vest and husband Mike of Amarillo; two brothers, Mark Linley of Tulia, and Jeff Linley of Amarillo; two grandsons, Ryan Linley and William Linley, Jr., and another grandchild on the way.
